I write songs because it feeds my soul. I don’t have an agenda when I write—the process is inspired from a place deep within that is out of my hands. If anything, if there is an agenda, it feels like that agenda has me. Writing a song is a therapeutic process that is energizing and inherently meaningful. It helps me make sense of life on a deeper level, to relate to parts of myself that are sometimes neglected or shunted into the shadows, and beyond anything, it helps me connect with the ineffable; with the mystery of life.
For me, the creative process runs a close parallel to the personal growth process, each informing the other. Touching on such themes as the hero’s journey, archetypal symbolism, the tension of the opposites, shadow work, love, presence, alchemical transformation, and spiritual awakening, my songs explore the many mysterious corners of life.
Making music brings me closer to a sense of the numinous; closer to the truth.
